Monthly Meetings

Join us on the third Wednesday of every month from 7pm to 9pm at 1717 Washington St. For anyone considering becoming a member, these meetings are a great way to meet other members and see what the Guild is all about. Each meeting features:

  • Show & Tell: Members proudly display their latest projects, sharing their process and insights.
  • Networking: Grab a coffee and cookies during the break to connect with fellow woodworkers.
  • Formal Program: An outside speaker or a Guild expert presents on a woodworking topic.

Classes

Our classes are designed to help you build confidence and expertise, from foundational skills to advanced techniques. You must have a Green Name Badge to take hands-on classes. Click here to learn about obtaining a Green Name Badge.

Repeating Classes:

  • Rough to Ready: Learn to safely operate our essential woodworking machines. It's your first step to using the shop and a great way to earn your Green Name Badge for shop privileges.
  • Basic Woodworking: A 10-session course designed for beginners. You'll build three projects while learning foundational skills like choosing materials, cutting joints, and finishing.
  • Intermediate Woodworking: A fast-paced class that builds on the Basic Woodworking course. You'll focus on advanced skills like creating tapered legs, and building and fitting cabinet doors and drawers.
  • Intro to Hand Tool Woodworking: This 10-session course introduces you to the use of classic hand tools. You'll learn to use planes, saws, and chisels while building projects.
  • Holiday-Themed: Each year we typically announce 3-4 different holiday themed classes. These “quickies” are usually offered as inexpensive projects that can be completed in a single class setting
  • In addition to our repeating courses, we also offer a diverse selection of other specialized classes on topics ranging from carving and veneering to marquetry.

Class sign ups are announced to members via email at approximately 7pm on Tuesdays. Class descriptions may appear on the website before that, but sign up slots are not available until the official announcement. Some classes are in high demand and fill up quickly.
